My first media text is from the very popular radio show the Archers. The show starts with a narrator giving a brief out line of what is going to happen in the story and there is the very well known Archers theme tune. The narrator is much like a presenter introducing a song and it helps to set the scene and maybe help some listeners who don't now what is going on. The very catchy theme tune which is very well known starts and finished the show. It is about 10 seconds of a tune played on a violin. It has a catchy tune which is good because everyone knows what it is when someone plays it. This is good because it means that the show is becoming well known.The show is targeted to the older generation. Most of the listeners like classical music so having a hip hop beat as the starting song would not suit the show at all so they have matched the music and the target audience.

My third media texts is the Rock show. It starts with a drum beat in the background and then the producer say the name of the show and what is going on. Then the name of the channel that the show is on. And then after that the beginning off a rock song which starts about 30 seconds into the start of the jingle. This is good because it is a rock show that there is a loud drum beat in the background as the talking is going on because it lets everyone know from the sound that the show is going to be a loud rock show which is what they are trying to put out for the listeners. The producer talking tells everyone what is going on during the show and what the show is about. Playing a rock song after the producer has been talking is good because it keeps the theme of the show going.

The show starts with a 30 second jingle which is a simple tune and after that is builds up in to a faster beat and then there is a song about how bad Monday is. It was called the Monday cheesy song about what a bad day Monday. Then it goes into the part where they introduce what channel they are on and what station. Then they have the part where they say the name of the show is a song way. The short song allows time for the song to build up giving a sense of expectation as it builds up. The Monday song was very catchy and had some funny lines in it which would appeal to the younger age group which is what the Chris Moyles show is trying to attacked to listen to the show.The beginning jiggle was made up by a drum beat and then other instruments join in to make the whole tune a lot better. The whole this is very good for setting the mood for the day and it is a good catchy tune which is very good for targeting the younger audience which is good for the show. And the way they say the Chris Moyles Show is very catchy and everyone knows what you are listening to when you hear the little name jingle.
