1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

1. I believe that my radio show is quite accurate with existing Army talk show that are out at the moment , for example About.com which is a Internet army talk show. I feel that i reached my target audience which is everyone in the army the old and the younger members army.I brought in a relevant guest Alex Pinel want to be in the army so he was a good choose and this is the factor that I feel would appeal all generation in the army. I included sound clips of the TA training film with is well related to the army. I feel that this made my radio show more believable and more relevant to the army most because of that talking part of my clip. Other Codes and Conventions that I included were the show host, a jingle and a guest, which are the key factors of a radio show.I feel that my jingle catchy, short and unlike this is what normal radio show which is good because mine does follow C&C of a radio show. I believe that this jingle is not particularly related to the army but there is not much army music. However it still serves it's purpose as a catchy jingle.

2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?

2. I think it doesn't represent many social groups but the ones it does are the ones it is supposed to. It represents the younger solders in the army and the older ones in the army which is what the show is aimed and and there fore it is a good radio show because it should represent the groups that the show is targeted at. Even people in the army can listen to the show but they might not be as in to the show as the other people in the army.

3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

3. I don't think many media institutions would distribute my audio project because I don't believe that they would think that it would be professional enough to distribute to a large audience. Also there could be a chance that they do mind because you might take some of there audiences. Or because you countering the genres and things like that.

4. Who would be the audience for your media product?

4. As i have already said my target audience are the members of the army even if they are old member or if they are members who have just joined my show is aimed at both of them. This is most probably those between 18-50 because this is what the average ages of people in the army are but there might be some older people in the army who wont be interested. Also there might be people out side the army and want to be in the army and they might listen to the show because it might help them get in to the army or help them find out how to get into the army. Most people are in C2DE but there might be one people in ABC1 because the high ranked officers might come from a better back round than people who have come form school to the army because they have nothing else to do.

5. How did you attract/address your audience?

5. They way i attracted my audience to listen to the show is to take account the interests of my audience. So i choose things that would attract the the audience like the jingle and the guest which are related to the show. I feel the jingle is catchy and interesting which is good because that will ether make you turn off the show or keep listening. The same with the guest if the guests is a bad guest or has no relevance to the army will make you ether turn off the show because you are not very interested in the show or may like the guest so you keeping listening. Also the good jingle will make people in the army more cheery because it is a catchy tune and therefore that is a good way to get people to listen to the show. With the jingle being cheerful make people listen because they now there will be good music on the show.

6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

6.From this project, I have learnt how to capably use Garage Band pre-, during and post-production. I have also learnt how to use audacity. This includes creating loops, tunes and rhythms to effect also learnt how to make a little tune on garage band with the onscreen keyboard. With this new found knowledge, I feel that I will be able to further construct a radio show to a full length discussion. I have learnt how to alter settings, such as sound and volume of different tracks by using the program audacity.Overall, I have learnt how to use Garage Band and Audacity consistently and to, I hope, a high-quality.
Production Of My Radio Show

To make my show is used Garage Band which is a program on the Apple Macs. The first thing that you have to when you are making anything on Garage Band you have to choose the instruments that you are going to use to make anything on the program. I used for my radio show Electric guitar, The shakers, Drum Kit, Stings and Acoustic band. Also there was the human parts which are the squares near the bottom of the picture the little speaker and the piece of paper with writing on it. All the little symbols have a red square around them and i used all those types of music to make my jingle. Once you have chosen what type of instruments you want to use then you can start adding music on to. Each different instrument is there own different track. To make anything you have two chooses what you can do is to get already made tracks and put them into your track so you are collecting what other people have made and putting them into your jingle. This is good because it is not very hard and the results are often good. Or what you could do is to get the on screen key board on thew screen and you can make up your tune. Once you have done that you can put it in any of the instrument track that you want and it will play the notes in the instrument that you have chosen to put it in. This is much hard and you must be good at playing the piano because if you are not there is no tune to what you play and it doesn't sound very good. I have combined both i used a little bit of my own playing with what other
people have do to make my radio show which is the best way because i am not very musical.

This is a part of garage band. This shows all the musical instruments that i have used. It also show all the tracks that i used. It shows how hard anything is to do because there is a lot to do. It also show how long each clip is the longer the line the longer the tune goes on for.

This is the part where you can change and choose you instrument. This show what instruments i used. There are thing that you can do by using this part of Garage band. The volume bar and the bottom of each track means that you can make any of the instrument louder or quieter. You might have to do this because one of the track is to loud and it is drowning out all the other tracks. this could happen when you put one of the tunes which have already been made. What you can do with the track volume is when you press the little arrow at the end of the little squares on each track you can pull down a little bar underneath the track once you have done that you can change the volume at different parts of the tune this is done by click on the line at the point where you want to change the volume and a little circle will appear and you will be able to drag it down or up depends weather you want it to be louder or quieter at the point you want. What i did on mine is a dragged it down at the end of a tune and drag the next tune up so it would flow into the next tune. This means that the tune doesn't just stop and then a different one start it means the other one is slowly stopping and the other one is slowly starting.

This is the part where you can choose what tunes you can put on. There are lots of different chooses like organ, guitars, once you have click on the instruments that you want you have lots of different chooses of what tunes you can put on to your jingles. Your can play then out load so you can hear them before you put them on to the track that you want.

Planning Of My Radio Show

As i have already said i am going to create my radio show using the program on the Apple Macs called garage band and then later a program called audacity. I have asked Alex Pinel who is a classmate who wants to be in the army to come on my radio show because he would have a better inside into the army which i do not have. I will have to make a small introduction jingle which will be a little bit of fun at the beginning of the show. After that i will introduce the show and introduce Alex who is in my radio show. Then i will ask a question about Afghanistan which he will answer and tell us what he did in Afghanistan. After that we had to put a little podcast about something related to your show. I put a clip of the TA army's training show and recorded a quick bit and then put it after Alex talk.
Applications

Throughout the production of my radio show, I will be using the Apple Mac program called Garage Band. And then i will use a program on the normal computers called audacity which will make the over all project better because it will play with all the little bits that i don't need. This program is straight forward to use but the effects and overall things you can produce while using this program are really quite good. Using these programs should help me make a good radio show for the Army.
Plan

For this Project i am making a radio show for the army. Therefore the target audince is anyone in the army of all ages from 18 to 50. I will be interveing one of my class mates who want to be in the army about what he want to be and then i will play a short clip from the TA millitary training film. This is so it wont make anyone from the different age groups turn of the radio show becuase it is to boring.
Target Audience

For my show i had to decide what type of show it should be. This was a hard chose because i had to decide what my Target audience was going to be. Would it be for young teenagers or would it be for middle aged men and woman or would it be a show for grand parents to listen to. I chose to ask my school Friends what i should do but i choose. I choose an Army show, Quiz show, Dance show, Music show, Comedy show. This is a graph to show the results of my questionnaire that i did using my class mates. The overall choose was to do an Army show. So my target audience is anyone in the army so it is for anyone from the age of 18 to 50. Therefore i will have to play music that will appeal to both ages of listeners. Also the show must play things that would interest both ends of the spectrum like not having things about night clubs because that would only interest the younger one and not having lots of political augments in the show because the younger listeners would not listen to the show.
